‘Not going to be able to keep it out:’ NSW Premier’s grim warning about mutant COVID strain

At least it’s an acknowledgement that despite quarantine, keeping the borders open (even with restrictions) means the virus still gets in. In other words, it can’t be stopped without extreme measures.

Considering Sydney hasn’t imposed a true lockdown (like in Melbourne and more recently Brisbane) or stopped international travellers, suggests that the benefits of not doing do continue to outweigh the risks (so far).
