You are my inspiration
As another year comes to an end, I’ve fortunately had the opportunity to reflect on my time as a notary public over the years. It’s especially important as 2015 is a special milestone being 10 years since I was admitted as a notary public back in 2005. A few of you who regularly receive and read my newsletters have asked me several times how I’m able to write so much about my notary public services, especially when notary public services seem to be quite boring, and so I thought I might try to answer those questions here for the benefit of everyone.
Ok, so I admit it. Notary public services can be quite boring IF you only think of it as witnessing signatures or certifying documents. HOWEVER, there’s also a very interesting aspect to providing notary public services. I find that knowing and understanding the story behind the need for notary public services, namely my clients, their stories and their documents not only helps me do what I need to do more efficiently and more effectively, but that’s also what gives notary public services a ‘life’ of its own. I’ve met some very interesting people over the last 10 years, and I can tell you that I’ve heard some very interesting stories as well.
Although it would be appropriate for me to repeat many of those stories, I still write constantly about my experiences in providing notary public services. As you read through my articles, over time you’ll see that aside from the technical aspects of notarising documents, stamping them with an apostille, authenticating and legalising them through foreign offices, my articles also focus on the situations that my clients face or are trying to address. That’s my inspiration! You are!
I’m pleased to say that my clients come to see me from all over Sydney (and even beyond) to have their documents notarised. Each and every client has their own story to tell, and even though some stories are more or less the same (is that not the fact of life?) it quickly becomes quite obviously that we are all not that much different from each other and the situations that we face are really very similar. Most documents relate to various family or business situations which are repeated time and time again all over the world.
Generally, when the same kinds of documents are used for the same kinds of situations for the same destination countries then the procedures, processes and protocols are often quite similar as well. Maybe the names and personalities are different each time, but the situations or the issues that each person deals with are very similar – and to a certain extent, that’s where my experiences provides value to each individual client irrespective of who they are, where they are sending their document, or what their documents is intended to achieve. While they themselves may be dealing with that specific situation for the first time and it may only happen once in their life, it’s very likely that I’ve dealt with that situation through my notary public services many times over with other clients. Accordingly, my experience as a notary public means I approach each of those situations with the confidence of knowing what to expect (most of the time) with the procedures, processes and protocols.
So as 2014 comes to a close, I’m reminded that my ability to serve you also comes from you – my clients, my subscribers and supporters alike. It’s your stories (and your documents) that make my notary public practice possible and for that I’m extremely grateful. Your support ensures that I’m able to continue to practice and I find the interest and satisfaction in listening to your stories and being of service to lend assistance whenever I can.
Further announcements regarding my office’s opening times and my availability to take appointments or provide notary public services over the Christmas and New Year period will be posted on this website shortly so please keep an eye out for that. Otherwise, on behalf of my team at Phang Legal, I wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and a safe and enjoyable New Year.
